Boom Cards
The PROMPT Institute has created Boom Cards for use by PROMPT-trained SLPs. It is vital that you conduct a Systems Analysis Observation (SAO) to identify which Stage of the Motor Speech Hierarchy (MSH) is appropriate for your client. These activities are not recommended for parents or for SLPs that are not PROMPT-trained.
Currently there are decks/bundles available in English for Stages III (Mandibular Control), IV (Labial-Facial Control) and V (Lingual Control). We are currently developing additional decks for each stage in English. We are also in the process of developing decks for Spanish and German.
A “homework” link with parent/caregiver reinforcement activities is provided at the end of each deck. This convenient form is a fast and easy way for SLPs to extend the power of their therapy.
If you are unfamiliar with Boom Cards, they are web-based interactive activities organized into decks. The PROMPT Institute's Boom Cards are used in therapy sessions to engage and motivate clients for target word productions. For more information about Boom Cards, please visit boomlearning.com.
